Safety Knives

Safety knives are utility knives with a protected blade: it retracts after the cut or is covered by a guide, which reduces the risk of accidental cuts. They are used to open packaging and to cut cardboard, film and tape, in warehouses, workshops and on site. The collection includes Stanley and Portwest models.

Types available

• Retractable blade, with a slider that exposes the blade only while cutting.
• Closed blade, in which the blade is never exposed during use.
• Hook-blade knives, for cutting film and tape without scoring the contents.
• FatMax models by Stanley, with a bi-material body and ergonomic grip.

How to choose

Choose according to the material to be cut and how often the knife is used. For repetitive work in a warehouse, closed-blade models are convenient; for more demanding cuts, choose retractable-blade models with a slider. If your staff have to follow internal safety procedures, a knife with a protected blade is often the simplest choice. Also check the type of replacement blade.
