Pillar Drills

101 products · Drills, Drivers and Electric Hammers

Pillar drills are machines for drilling metals and other materials with precision: the head is guided along a column, so the hole is straight and repeatable. They are used in workshops, metal fabrication and maintenance, where hand drilling cannot give the same quality.

Types of drill available

  • Bench pillar drills, suited to the workshop and small craft jobs
  • Fervi radial drills, with a movable arm for drilling large workpieces without moving them
  • Makita, Milwaukee and DeWalt magnetic base drills, which clamp onto steel beams and plate and can be taken where they are needed

How to choose the drill

Consider the maximum drilling diameter, the motor power and the chuck capacity. If the workpiece can be brought into the workshop, choose a bench or radial model; if you need to drill steel structures that are already installed, the magnetic base is the most practical choice, also available cordless. Check the clearance under the head and the speed adjustment.
