- Stools, such as Dupla, for work at low height.
- Platform steps, such as S15/2, for reaching higher levels with a stable structure.
How to choose the ladder
It should be chosen according to the working height to be reached, the maximum load stated, the type of use (domestic or professional) and the bulk when transported and stored. Portable ladders are governed by the EN 131 standard, which is also referred to in the product sheets. They must always be used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
AMES works by quotation: tell us the use, the working conditions and the quantities and we will propose the most suitable models, with availability and delivery times.

Frequently asked questions: Facal
Which domestic ladder should you choose for jobs around the home?
Facal domestic ladders are designed for maintenance jobs around the home, such as changing a light bulb or painting a wall. Aluminium versions are lighter to move, while steel models, such as TONTO and NINO, are made of metal. The choice depends on the height to be reached, the weight of the user and the space available. Check that the ladder is stable on a flat floor and that the steps are non-slip.
Which standard applies to portable ladders such as multi-position ladders?
Portable ladders, including aluminium multi-position ladders, must comply with UNI EN 131, which sets requirements and tests for ladders. The marking on the ladder and the user booklet state the maximum load and the permitted uses. Before climbing, check that the ladder is intact, with steps and feet in good condition. Use it only in the positions specified by the manufacturer and never exceed the stated load.
Which mobile scaffold tower should you choose for work at height on walls and ceilings?
A mobile scaffold tower is a movable tower with a working platform, used to reach greater heights than a ladder allows. In the Facal range there are aluminium models, such as TANO, P6, PIEGO, PENNY, CLIC and ESTRO, and steel models, such as MITO, FIERO and PONY. For mobile scaffold towers, the reference standard is EN 1004. Choose the model according to the working height and the load capacity required.
How do you assemble a mobile scaffold tower safely?
The tower must be assembled on a flat, solid surface, with the wheels locked and the feet levelled. Assembly must be carried out according to the manufacturer's booklet, and you must not climb onto the working platform until assembly is complete and the locking devices have been checked. Never move a tower with people on it. Use the internal ladder only if provided, and keep your hands free while climbing.
Which Facal stool or trestle is used for low-level work?
The stool, such as the Dupla or FERMO model, is used for low-level work where a stable platform is needed. Trestles, such as ZINKO, CAVA or TAGLIALEGNA, support boards or pieces of wood during cutting or machining. Choose the trestle according to its load capacity and stability. Do not climb onto trestles for work at height, as they are not designed as ladders.
Which loading ramps or walkways are needed to load vehicles onto a van?
The KARGO-ALU-SYSTEM loading ramps and the Dumby ALU System walkway are used to bridge the gap between the loading platform and the floor, to allow trolleys or small vehicles to go up. They should be chosen according to load capacity and gradient. Before use, check the non-slip surfaces, the fixing and that the ramp rests on a stable base. Never exceed the load capacity stated by the manufacturer.
Which step-frame ladder should you choose for reaching greater heights?
The step-frame ladder, such as the Platea Progress, is a structure with several steps that rises from a stable base, designed to reach greater heights with a solid frame. It is chosen according to the height to be reached and the load capacity. It must be opened in the position specified by the manufacturer and locked before climbing. Do not place it on sloping or unstable surfaces, and do not use it as a bridge.
