33 products

On site, in the workshop and in maintenance work they are used for trimming and cutting with precision when a power tool would be excessive. The collection brings together items from the Metrica brand.
What you will find

- Tailor's shears: long blades for clean cuts on fabrics, sheeting and roll materials.
How to choose
The first criterion is the material to be cut: electrician's scissors for cables and wires, tailor's shears for fabrics and sheeting, multi-purpose ones for varied use. Then consider the blade length, which affects precision and cut length, and the handle, which must remain comfortable and secure even with work gloves.

Frequently asked questions: Scissors and Shears
Which electrician's scissors should I choose for cutting cables and conductors?
To cut cables and conductors choose electrician's scissors with a double cutting profile, designed for work on wires. Some models have an integrated wire stripper, which removes the sheath in the same movement, while others, such as the Metrica version without wire stripper, are only for cutting. Choose according to the task and check that the handle is comfortable.
Can insulated electrician's scissors be used for live working?
For work on live parts you need insulated tools marked in accordance with EN 60900. In the catalogue the Fervi F018 models have insulated handles, but before using any scissors near live conductors check the marking on the tool. Non-insulated scissors must not be used on live installations.
Which multi-purpose stainless steel scissors should I choose among Metrica, Mass and Unifix?
For everyday cuts on different materials you will find Metrica multi-purpose stainless steel scissors, Titanium Mass stainless steel scissors and Unifix multi-purpose scissors with a two-component handle. Stainless steel blades resist damp well. Choose according to the material: a thin blade for fabrics and tapes, a sturdier blade for cardboard and plastic.
When should I use tailor's scissors on site?
Metrica tailor's scissors have long, precise blades for cutting fabric, paper and card in regular lines. On site they are not suited to cables, sheet metal or thick tapes, because the blades could be damaged. Keep them separate from electrician's scissors and use them only for light materials, to preserve the edge of the blade.
Which Vigor electrician's scissors are in the catalogue and what is the difference?
In the Vigor catalogue you will find electrician's scissors with straight stainless steel blades and an Ergo version, with a straight stainless steel blade and ergonomic handle. The Ergo version focuses on grip comfort. Choose according to how often you use them, and try the handle before deciding.
How do I maintain work scissors so that they last?
Clean the blades after use, removing residue of tape, glue or dirt, and dry them well to prevent rust. Lubricate the pivot with a few drops of oil and check that the locking screw is tight. Blades that cut badly should be sharpened or replaced. Also check the insulated parts of electrician's scissors.
Nickel-plated or stainless steel scissors: which should I choose for damp conditions?
Stainless steel blades resist damp and rust better than nickel-plated steel. Nickel plating, as on Pavan scissors or Metrica nickel-plated work scissors, has a shiny finish but needs more care after use in wet environments. For outdoor work or in damp environments choose stainless steel, and always dry the blades.
