Hand Cleaners
68 products
Hand cleaners are detergents for cleaning grease, oil, paint and site and workshop dirt from the skin. In this collection you will find abrasive creams and gels, liquid soaps, wipes and the dispensers to distribute them.
Types available
- Abrasive hand cleaning creams and gels: for the toughest dirt, in pump bottles or drums (Faren, Chemical Roadmaster, NPT Sigill).
- Liquid soaps and cleansers: for everyday hand hygiene (Firma Chimica, Faren).
- Spray glove and wipes: quick cleaning without water (Unifix, Portwest).
- Wall-mounted dispensers: for gels and soaps.
How to choose
Choose according to the dirt to be removed: products with abrasive microgranules are for grease and paint, those without abrasive are for frequent use. Consider the pack size (bottle, drum or bucket) and compatibility with the dispenser already in place.
After washing, it is good practice to rinse and dry the hands thoroughly, using a protective cream if needed.
Every supply is on a quotation basis: tell us the model, quantity and intended use and the AMES team will prepare a tailored offer.

Frequently asked questions: Hand Cleaners
Which hand cleaner should I use for grease, oil and paint on the hands?
For stubborn workshop and building-site dirt, such as grease, oil and paint, use hand-cleaning creams or gels with an abrasive, applied to the hands and rinsed off with water. For everyday hygiene, liquid soaps or milder cleaners are enough. If the skin turns red or dries out, switch to a product with less abrasive and use a moisturising cream at the end of the shift.
What is the difference between hand-cleaning cream, gel and paste?
Creams and pastes with an abrasive are for the toughest dirt, while liquid soaps are lighter and suited to everyday hygiene. Versions in a pump bottle or in a canister make dispensing easier, especially where many people use the product. Choose according to how hard the dirt is and who will be using the product.
How do you choose wall-mounted dispensers for gel and hand cleaner?
Wall-mounted dispensers are fixed to the wall and filled with gel or soap. They suit places where hands are washed often, such as workshops, work washrooms and kitchens. The T-Wall bracket, for example, is for the T-Box dispenser, while the totem floor stand holds the dispenser upright. Check that the dispenser is compatible with the refill format you will use.
When is a floor stand better than a wall-mounted dispenser?
The floor stand is useful where there are no suitable walls or where the dispenser needs to be moved, such as on building sites, in entrance areas or in temporary spaces. The telescopic version lets you adjust the height. The wall-mounted dispenser is fixed and takes up no floor space. Choose according to where the dispenser will be used most often.
Which towels and rolls should I use to dry hands in a workshop or on a building site?
V-fold towels in pure two-ply cellulose are used to dry the hands after washing. Tissue wadding rolls, such as the Eco 800 or Pratika 800 versions, fit wall-mounted or floor-standing roll holders. Before buying, check the format of the roll holder you already have, and choose the type of towel according to its use.
How should hand-cleaning cream be used so that it does not irritate the skin?
Apply a small amount of cream to the hands, rub in well and rinse with lukewarm water, then dry carefully. Do not use the product on broken skin and, if you feel burning or itching, stop using it. A moisturising cream after work helps protect the skin. Always read the label and the safety data sheet of the product.
What is a spray glove and when is it used instead of water?
The spray glove and cleaning wipes are used to clean the skin without water, when there is no sink within reach, such as on a building site or when working away from base. They are sprayed or wiped onto the hands and dried with a cloth. They do not replace a full wash in the case of very heavy dirt or contact with hazardous substances: in those cases use soap and water.
