Random Orbital Sanders

The random orbital sander has a disc that rotates and oscillates at the same time: it removes material evenly and leaves a surface free of visible marks. It is used to sand and finish wood, paints, fillers and surfaces to be prepared for painting.

Types available

• Corded random orbital sanders: with 125 or 150 mm disc and speed adjustment (Fervi, Milwaukee, Abac, Stanley).
• Cordless random orbital sanders: in a compact version, also without battery and charger (Stanley, Milwaukee, DeWalt, Makita).
• Quarter-sheet orbital sanders: for tight spaces and finishing work (DeWalt, Vigor).

How to choose

Check the disc diameter, the power or battery voltage and the orbit diameter: a larger orbit removes more material, a smaller one gives a better finish. Check the dust extraction system and the speed adjustment.
