Types of product
- Profiles for floors and wall coverings, for example in brass and aluminium, for finishing edges, corners and transitions between different materials.
- Levelling systems such as Proleveling, for floors on uneven surfaces.
- Profiles, supports and drainage systems for terraces and balconies.
- Membranes such as the Profoil Pro HDPE membrane.
How to choose
The type of installation (interior or exterior), the thickness of the covering and the material and finish of the profile, to be matched to the floor, all matter. Tell us the job and we will help you find the right system.
AMES Srl works by quotation: tell us the application, quantities and site timescales, then call us on 051 728529 or write to us for availability, selection advice and terms.

Frequently asked questions: Progress Profiles
Which profile should I use to finish the edge of a tiled floor?
To finish edges and corners, use finishing profiles, such as the double-bevel profile or the triangular bevel in grey rigid PVC, or aluminium and brass profiles for transitions between different materials. Choose the profile according to the material to be finished and the tile thickness. The profile must be fixed to a clean substrate, before laying.
How do I level a floor on an uneven base?
To level a floor on an irregular surface, use levelling systems such as Proleveling, which let you lay the covering on a more even plane. Choose the system according to the height difference to be corrected and the type of covering. Before starting, check that the substrate is clean and stable, and read the data sheet of the system.
What is the difference between pas, pal, pax and doppy spacers?
The pas, pal, pax and doppy spacers are made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), but have different shapes to suit different laying points. The choice depends on where they are placed, on the formwork, on the reinforcement or on the substrate, and on the thickness required by the design. Check the data sheet of each spacer to see which shape to use in your case.
What is the Profoil Pro HDPE membrane used for on balconies and terraces?
The Profoil Pro HDPE membrane is laid on terraces and balconies as a protective and separating layer, beneath the paving. It protects the structure from water and promotes drainage under the floor. It must be laid on a clean substrate with sealed joints, as indicated by the manufacturer. Whoever lays it must follow the instructions of the chosen system.
Which rigid PVC floor joint should I choose for paving?
The Pavijoint floor joint profile in grey rigid PVC is used to separate two laying areas and absorb floor movement. It must be fitted at the points required by the design, such as control joints. Choose the profile shape according to the thickness of the covering. Check the product data sheet for laying instructions.
How do I fit spacers for reinforcement and mesh on a building site?
Spacers for mesh and reinforcement keep the reinforcement at the right distance from the formwork or the base. They must be placed at regular intervals, according to the required concrete cover. Choose the shape according to what they rest on: the ground, the mesh or the formwork. Check that the spacer stays in place during the pour.
What are PVC or rubber formwork gaskets used for?
Formwork gaskets seal the joints between formwork panels, so that mortar or concrete does not escape during the pour. They are fitted along the edge of the panels before pouring and must be checked each time they are reused. Choose the material according to the pressure of the pour and the type of formwork. A good seal reduces fins and leaks.
What is Promembrane Koll cementitious membrane adhesive in 25 kg bags?
Promembrane Koll cementitious adhesive is a powder product to be mixed with water, used to fix waterproofing membranes onto concrete or mortar substrates. The 25 kg pack is the one listed in the catalogue. Prepare the mix following the proportions on the data sheet, apply the product on a clean substrate and wear gloves and glasses, as stated in the safety data sheet.
