Long Tape Measures
69 products · Analogue Measurement and Marking-Out
Reel tapes are tools for measuring long lengths, for example on site, in topographic surveys and in setting out. A graduated tape is wound on a frame or in a case and is rewound with a crank, so that distances of tens of metres can be measured by one person.
Types of reel tapes included
- Fibreglass tape reels, light and flexible, including the FatMax version.
- Steel tape reels, in particular with a wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant nylon coating.
- Reels with handle, frame or case type, for more comfortable use.
- Surveyor models for surveys.
Brands include Stanley, Stabila, Pavan and Unifix, as well as A.M.E.S. products.
How to choose
What matters is the length of the tape, which starts from 10 metres, the width and the material: fibreglass for lightness, steel for rigidity and accuracy. If you often measure in dirty environments, prefer a tape with a protective coating.
