Frequently asked questions: Sea Technology
Which Plato diamond grinding disc should I choose for concrete?

For grinding concrete, Plato discs come in the Cemento (concrete) version and the Resina (resin) version. The difference lies in the diamond bond, and therefore in the type of material each disc works best on. Choose the version and the grit sequence according to the surface and the machine. Always work with water and follow the grit order indicated by the manufacturer.

What is the difference between Plato Standard and Fast discs?

The Standard and Fast versions of the same disc differ in characteristics stated in the data sheet. Which one to use depends on the stage of the job, which may be rough grinding, grinding or finishing. Read the data sheet for the grit and recommended use of each version, and choose the one suited to the machine you have.

What are the coloured Grinder grinding modules used for?

Grinder modules are fitted to the disc of the grinder and are chosen according to the grit and the type of work. The colours indicate different grades or bonds, such as Green, Gold, Black, Yellow, Light Blue and Silver. Usually you start from the coarsest grit and move to the finest to obtain the desired finish. Check the data sheet for the meaning of each colour.

When do I need a Seastand core drill stand?

The SEASTAND 250 stand supports the core drill when drilling large-diameter holes in concrete or masonry. It ensures stability and alignment of the hole. To choose the core drill and the stand, check the core diameter, the depth and the weight of the whole assembly. Fix the stand to a solid surface, as indicated in the manual.

What is the SEAFLOOR 600 petrol floor saw used for?

The petrol floor saw with a 600 mm blade is used to cut concrete, asphalt and similar paving, along joint or trench lines. Use it with the blade suited to the material and with the guard fitted, because cutting produces dust and sparks. Work in a ventilated area and never with people near the blade.

How do I repair a crack in a concrete floor?

The Sea Crack Repair system is used to repair cracks in concrete floors. First clean the crack of dust and debris, then apply the product following the instructions of the system. The repair reduces the risk of the crack widening or water getting in. Allow the stated curing time before walking on it or putting the surface under load.

Which products do I need to polish and treat concrete floors?

For polishing, use Sea Stone Lux, a chemical polishing product, while Sea Guard Lithium is a treatment to protect the surface. Apply the products after grinding, on a clean, dry surface. Wear gloves and glasses and read the safety data sheet before use.

What precautions are needed with wet diamond grinding machines?

During wet grinding the dust forms slurry, so work with a constant water supply and clean the area after use. Wear ear defenders, glasses and gloves, and a mask against the silica dust that can form if the material dries out. With electric machines, use a residual-current device (RCD) and check the condition of the cable.
