TCT and Diamond Hole Saws
100 products · Saw Blades
TCT (tungsten carbide tipped) hole saws and diamond core bits are used to cut circular holes in hard materials such as concrete, masonry, brick and tiles: they are useful for service runs, electrical boxes and ventilation holes.
What you will find in the collection
- Hole saws with carbide cutting edges: for building work, such as the Fervi ones.
- Diamond core bits: Breaker, DeWalt and Sea Technology models.
- Core bits for SDS-Max hammers and SDS crown cutters: for drilling with rotary hammers.
- Core bits and pilot bits for core drills: Bossong and Raimondi tools, also for dry drilling.
- Adapters: connectors between the core bit and the motor.
How to choose
Choose the type of core bit according to the material and the machine: carbide for masonry and brick with hammer drills, diamond for concrete and very hard materials. Check the diameter, depth and fitting. The brands available include Fervi, DeWalt, Breaker, Sea Technology, Bossong and Raimondi.

Frequently asked questions: TCT and Diamond Hole Saws
How do you make a large round hole in a wall?
For a large round hole in a wall or concrete, use a widia hole saw or a diamond core bit fitted to a drill or hammer drill. The hole is used for electrical boxes, service passages and ventilation. Before drilling, locate reinforcement and cables with a detector, and secure the machine firmly, because the saw can jam suddenly.
Widia hole saw or diamond core bit: which to choose?
The widia hole saw, with tungsten-carbide cutting edges, suits masonry, brick and concrete and is widely used in construction. The diamond core bit cuts reinforced concrete and the hardest materials, such as the Breaker and DeWalt crowns. For tiles, choose a diamond core bit suitable for stoneware or ceramic.
What is the pilot drill of a hole saw for?
The pilot drill is the central bit of the hole saw: it guides the saw to the exact point where the hole is to be made and stops it moving at the start of the cut. The collection includes the Fervi pilot bit for construction hole saws and the Fervi 0712/300 pilot bit for hole saw arbors. Fit the pilot before the saw and check that it is secure.
Drill adaptor or SDS shank: what is the difference?
The drill adaptor connects the hole saw to the chuck of a standard drill, while the SDS-Max shank or SDS-Plus arbor connects the crown to a rotary hammer. The collection includes the universal SDS-Max shank for Milwaukee hole saws and the TCT SDS-Plus arbors for Milwaukee crowns. Choose the fitting according to the machine you have.
When are crowns for SDS-Max hammers needed?
SDS-Max crowns are needed for making large, deep holes in reinforced concrete or heavy masonry, with a powerful machine. The collection includes TCT crown bits for the Milwaukee SDS-Max system, including the one-piece version. For holes this large, the hammer must be suitable for the work and the shank must match.
How do you cool the diamond core bit while drilling?
To cool the diamond core bit, use water, which can be fed through a wet-drilling guide, such as the Milwaukee guide for hole saws. Work in stages, with pauses to let the crown cool, and do not force the pressure. Cooling prolongs the life of the crown and reduces dust.
Who uses hole saws in construction and installation?
Hole saws are used by electricians, plumbers, installers and air conditioning fitters, for holes in walls, concrete and tiles. They are needed for passing pipes, cables, ducts and ventilation, or for housing boxes and sockets. On site it is useful to have several diameters, so that fewer holes have to be redone.
