Windows, Doors and Profiles
3 products
Windows and patio doors close the openings of a building and regulate its light, air and insulation. In this collection you will find the Fakro windows and doors in the AMES catalogue, designed for those who build or renovate.
What you will find in the collection
- INNOVIEW timber-aluminium windows, with a timber frame on the inside and aluminium on the outside
- HST lift-and-slide patio door, for large glazed openings
- PSK tilt-and-slide patio door, which combines sliding with tilt opening
How to choose
Consider the size of the opening, the type of opening you need given the space available, the frame material and the insulation performance required by the project. Sizes, glazing and finishes are defined case by case. For sliding patio doors, also consider the clear space needed for opening and the type of threshold, so that the passage remains comfortable and the door fits in well with the rest of the building.
AMES works on a quotation basis: send us the dimensions and the requirements of the project and we will recommend the most suitable solution.

Frequently asked questions: Windows, Doors and Profiles
Which types of Fakro windows and doors are in this collection?
The collection includes three types of Fakro product: the HST lift-and-slide patio door, the PSK parallel-sliding and tilt patio door and the INNOVIEW timber-aluminium window. Each type meets a different need in terms of opening size, mode of opening and use of the room. Choose according to the situation in which you need to install them.
When is an HST lift-and-slide patio door better than a PSK?
The HST is designed for large glazed openings with lift-and-slide operation. The PSK combines parallel sliding with a tilt opening, which lets you ventilate the room in a controlled way even with the door otherwise closed. Consider the space needed for sliding, the weight of the panels and how you want to use the opening. Compare the maximum sizes on the Fakro data sheets.
Which timber-aluminium windows are suited to a renovation?
INNOVIEW timber-aluminium windows have a timber frame on the inside and aluminium on the outside. The timber gives a warm look to the interior, while the aluminium protects the part exposed to the weather. They are an option to consider for renovations where you want a timber interior. Check the available finishes for the model with the retailer.
How do you measure the opening for a Fakro window or door?
Measure the width and height of the opening at several points, because walls may not be perfectly square. Allow for the space taken up by the frame, any roller shutter boxes or shutters, and the space needed for the sash or sliding panel to open. Compare the measurements taken with those given on the model's data sheet. The survey must be done before ordering the window or door.
Which opening type should I choose for a patio door onto a balcony or terrace?
For a balcony or terrace, what matters most is the space in front of the opening. A lift-and-slide door such as the HST frees the passage without taking up space on the outside, while the PSK parallel slide also offers a tilt opening for ventilation. Consider the space taken up by awnings, furniture and plant pots on the outside before deciding.
How do you maintain timber-aluminium windows and sliding patio doors?
Clean tracks and hinges regularly, so that dust and dirt do not hinder sliding. Check the seals and replace any that are worn. For the timber on the inside, follow the manufacturer's guidance on which products to use. For the aluminium and the seals, choose gentle cleaners without harsh solvents, and keep the tracks clear of objects.
