Precision squares
40 products
Precision squares are rigid squares, made to tight tolerances, used to check and mark right angles in workshop, engineering and fine joinery work, where a site square is not accurate enough.
Types included in the collection
- Steel try squares, with stock, in various blade lengths.
- Hardened bevelled-edge squares, with a chamfered edge for easier scale reading.
- Plain galvanised steel squares, for general workshop use.
The brands included in this collection are Fervi and Metrica.
How to choose
The blade length must suit the pieces to be checked: a blade that is too short magnifies the error on the angle. For heavy use a hardened square is worthwhile, as it resists wear and knocks better. Before buying, also check the size of the stock, which must sit well against the edge of the workpiece.
