Expanded clay is a lightweight material in balls of fired clay, used for drainage in pots and as a ground cover.
What it is for
Used in grounds care, from routine maintenance to seasonal work and in horticulture and greenhouse production.
How to use it
Spread it on the bottom of the pot, over the drainage holes, in a layer a few centimetres deep, before adding the compost. It can also be scattered over the compost as a decorative mulch.
