What it is

The cable reel is a drum, hand-wound or spring-wound, that holds the power cable with the sockets fitted, to bring power where needed and to take up the cable at the end of the job.
What it is for
Used to power construction sites where mains supply is unavailable or insufficient and in the installation and maintenance of residential and industrial electrical systems.
How to use it
Unwind the cable completely before use, because it overheats when coiled; the maximum permitted power is stated on the rating plate and is lower with the cable wound. Place it on a stable, dry surface. Rewind by hand, guiding the cable. Discard it if the cable, socket or drum is damaged.
