The mains tester screwdriver is a screwdriver with an indicator lamp in the handle, which lights up when the tip touches a live conductor.

What it is for

Used for repetitive screwdriving into wood, metal and plasterboard, where torque and consistency matter, in the installation and maintenance of residential and industrial electrical systems and in electrical panels for construction sites and installations.

How to use it

Place the tip on the conductor to be checked while touching the contact at the end of the handle with a finger: if the lamp lights up, voltage is present. Before relying on it, test it on a point known to be live. It is an indicator, not a measuring instrument. Do not use it to drive screws with force, and observe the stated voltage range.
