What it is
Wood handsaw Tradecut 450mm – 11 TPI Stanley. Key specifications: blade coating type Cardboard casing, blade to handle fixing Ultrasonically welded, blade length (mm) 450.
A hand saw is a manual tool, with or without a frame, for cutting wood, metal, plastic, lightweight building materials or branches, depending on the blade fitted.
What it is for
Used in carpentry work, for woodworking in the joinery shop and for cutting solid wood, panels and battens, on the bench or on site.
How to use it
Choose the blade according to the material: coarse teeth for wood and green wood, fine teeth for metal and pipes. On hacksaws, fit the blade with the teeth pointing forwards and well tensioned. Clamp the workpiece, start the cut with short strokes and continue with long, even strokes without pressing too hard, replacing the blade when it is worn.
