What it is

A turnbuckle is a body with opposite threads at each end which, when turned, shortens or lengthens the connection and tensions ropes and cables.

What it is for

Used for anchoring to walls, ceilings and floors and for general-purpose fixing into masonry, concrete and timber.

How to use it

Screw the two end fittings, eye or hook type, into the central body, attach them to the fixed points and turn the body to tension. Always leave a good length of thread engaged and lock with a lock nut or wire. Choose a load rating suited to the load.
