Backing pads for quick-fit discs DeWalt DT3600-QZ

What it is

The DT3600-QZ by DeWalt is a replacement backing pad for random orbital sanders, with a quick hook-and-loop disc attachment, in other words velcro-type. It is sold singly and has a height of 1.5 cm. It is the plate to which the abrasive discs are fixed: when the velcro wears out, the machine no longer holds the paper and the backing pad needs replacing.

A backing pad is the support disc fitted to a sander or grinder that holds sanding paper, fibre discs or polishing pads.

What it is for

Used for sanding surfaces before painting, for sanding surfaces, as preparation or as a finish and for sanding surfaces before treatment.

How to use it

Choose a backing pad with the same diameter, fitting and dust extraction holes as the machine and discs. Fit it with the machine stopped, apply the abrasive with the holes aligned and work flat without forcing, so as not to overheat the hook-and-loop face. Replace it when the hook-and-loop no longer holds or the pad is deformed.
