What it is

The DeWalt DT5058-QZ drill bit belongs to the Extreme 2 range for drilling metal and is made of HSS with a diameter of 11 mm. With a working length of 91 mm and an overall length of 142 mm, it provides the useful depth to drill steel and metal alloys accurately. It is available in a single blister pack.

How to use it

Mark the centre with a centre punch, clamp the workpiece and drill at a speed that is lower the larger the diameter and the harder the material. Maintain steady pressure, lubricate with cutting oil on steel and stainless steel and, for large diameters, drill a pilot hole first. Withdraw the bit frequently to clear the swarf, and never touch the swarf with bare hands.
