What it is

The DeWalt HSS-G drill bit to DIN 338 (DT5226-QZ) is made of HSS with a diameter of 12 mm and is intended for drilling metal. With a working length of 101 mm and an overall length of 151 mm, it is suited to medium-to-large-diameter holes in steel, sheet metal and metal sections. It is supplied in a single blister pack.

How to use it

Mark the centre with a centre punch, clamp the workpiece and drill at a speed that is lower the larger the diameter and the harder the material. Maintain steady pressure, lubricate with cutting oil on steel and stainless steel and, for large diameters, drill a pilot hole first. Withdraw the bit frequently to clear the swarf, and never touch the swarf with bare hands.
