What it is
The DeWalt DT5538-QZ is a twist drill bit for metal with a diameter of 2.5 mm, offered in a convenient multipack of 10 pieces in a bag. Made of HSS high-speed steel, it offers a working length of 30 mm on a total length of 57 mm, dimensions designed for precise drilling of thin sheet metal and sections. How to use it
Mark the centre with a centre punch, clamp the workpiece and drill at a speed that is lower the larger the diameter and the harder the material. Maintain steady pressure, lubricate with cutting oil on steel and stainless steel and, for large diameters, drill a pilot hole first. Withdraw the bit frequently to clear the swarf, and never touch the swarf with bare hands.
