What it is

The DeWalt DT5561-QZ is a metal drill bit with a diameter of 12 mm, in HSS high-speed steel, available in a multipack of 10 pieces. With a working length of 98 mm and a total length of 151 mm, it is designed for deep drilling of thick metal components, a size typical of structural and heavy metalwork.

How to use it

Mark the centre with a centre punch, clamp the workpiece and drill at a speed that is lower the larger the diameter and the harder the material. Maintain steady pressure, lubricate with cutting oil on steel and stainless steel and, for large diameters, drill a pilot hole first. Withdraw the bit frequently to clear the swarf, and never touch the swarf with bare hands.
