What it is

The DeWalt DT8288-QZ hole saw arbor is the connecting accessory that allows the hole saw to be fixed to the power tool, for a stable coupling during drilling. Made of metal, it is designed for metal applications and ensures reliable transmission of rotation to the cutter. The product is available in a pack of 5 pieces.

The arbor, also called the mandrel, is the rod with a drill fitting that holds the hole saw. At the centre it carries the pilot bit that guides the hole and has a system, screw-type or quick-change, for locking the saw.

What it is for

Used for drilling wood and panels, for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and for running services through walls, floors and suspended ceilings.

How to use it

Choose the arbor suited to the diameter of the saw and its fitting, fix the saw, check that the pilot bit protrudes as needed and tighten the arbor in the drill chuck. Replace the pilot bit when it no longer centres properly and keep the arbor clean.
