What it is

The jaw chuck is the workholding device mounted on the lathe that grips the workpiece. The self-centring type moves all the jaws together, while the independent-jaw chuck allows irregular workpieces to be clamped.
What it is for
Used for clamping workpieces, in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts and for turning metal parts, both roughing and finishing.
How to use it
Clean the mounting and fit the chuck on the lathe, tightening it firmly. Insert the workpiece between the jaws and tighten evenly with the dedicated key; with independent jaws, adjust each jaw and check the centring. Always remove the key before starting the machine.
