Combined milling cutter chuck Fervi 16/D40

What it is

The Fervi 16/D40 combination shell mill arbor is a machine tool holder with a Ø 16 mm bore in d-h6 tolerance, intended for precise clamping of shell-type milling cutters. Made in Italy with certified production, it is fitted with a BT 40 taper conforming to MAS-403 BT, a standard widely used on CNC machining centres.

These are chucks with a tapered shank, often Morse taper, that hold milling cutters or drill bits and fit into the taper of the machine tool.

What it is for

Used for milling faces, shoulders and slots on machine tools and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.

How to use it

Clean the taper and the socket thoroughly of oil and swarf, then insert the shank with a slight twist and a firm push so that the taper seats. Tighten the tool with the specified key or drawbar. To remove it, use the proper tool, without striking the chuck.
