Weldon-type milling cutter chuck Fervi 4/12B40

What it is

The Fervi 4/12B40 Weldon-type end mill holder is a tool holder for clamping end mills with a cylindrical shank and Weldon flat, with a Ø 12 mm bore and ISO 40 mount. Machining to d1 - h6 tolerances contributes to good concentricity in rotation. The holder is certified Italian-made and complies with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC with CE marking.

These are chucks with a tapered shank, often Morse taper, that hold milling cutters or drill bits and fit into the taper of the machine tool.

What it is for

Used for milling faces, shoulders and slots on machine tools and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.

How to use it

Clean the taper and the socket thoroughly of oil and swarf, then insert the shank with a slight twist and a firm push so that the taper seats. Tighten the tool with the specified key or drawbar. To remove it, use the proper tool, without striking the chuck.
