What it is
The Fervi P058/01.25 parallel-shank twist drill bit has a diameter of Ø 1.25 mm and is made to DIN 338 to guarantee standardised dimensions and geometry. The titanium coating and the HV 740-780 hardness increase abrasion resistance, while the 135° point-angle grinding improves starting accuracy and reduces initial slipping. The tool is certified Italian-made and complies with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, with CE marking.
A metal drill bit is an HSS or cobalt twist drill, with a straight or taper shank, for drilling steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics.
What it is for
Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.
How to use it
Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
