What it is
With a diameter of Ø 11.5 mm, the Fervi ST2A11.50 taper-shank twist drill bit is designed for drilling precise holes in metals in professional machining. The 118° point angle ensures a good balance between thrust and hole quality, while the 700-740 HV hardness keeps the cutting edge stable. Compliance with DIN 345 ensures compatibility with standardised taper shanks.
A metal drill bit is an HSS or cobalt twist drill, with a straight or taper shank, for drilling steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics.
What it is for
Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.
How to use it
Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
