What it is
The Fervi P023/01.25L is a long straight-shank twist drill bit with a diameter of Ø 1.25 mm, ideal for small-section but deep drilling. The 135° point angle and the hardness of 770-830 HV ensure a clean cut and good cutting-edge strength, which are essential when working with such small diameters and extended lengths.
A metal drill bit is an HSS or cobalt twist drill, with a straight or taper shank, for drilling steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics.
What it is for
Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.
How to use it
Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
