What it is
Continuous-strip feeler gauge Fervi TG009/AE. Key specifications: material Steel, tolerance T2, thickness (mm) 0,09.
The feeler gauge measures clearances, gaps and thicknesses. In its most common form it is a set of calibrated blades of known thickness, to be inserted in the gap to be checked; continuous-tape and digital models also exist.
What it is for
Used in quality control of parts and workmanship and for measuring on site and in the workshop.
How to use it
Clean the gap and insert the thinnest blade, moving to increasing thicknesses until it enters with slight drag: that is the clearance value. Do not force the blades or bend them. After use, dry them and put them back in the case to prevent rust. Digital models are used as described in the manual.
