What it is

This is a heat-resistant fibre braid or tape, often self-adhesive, for sealing doors, glass and hatches on stoves, fireplaces and ovens.

What it is for

How to use it

Remove the old gasket, clean the seat of residue and cut the new one to length. Stick or fit it in the seat, using high-temperature adhesive if it is not self-adhesive. Replace it when the door no longer closes tightly or the gasket has hardened.
