What it is

The Fischer FRSM heavy-duty pipe clamp with metric thread is a fixing from the heavy-duty range with a clamping range of 100 to 106 mm, a width of 171 mm, a height of 143 mm and a 30 x 3.0 mm clamp band. The M10 and M12 threaded connections, the M8 locking screw and the maximum CE-certified recommended static tensile load of 3 kN make it a support suitable for large-diameter pipes, with an installation tightening torque of 3 N·m.

A pipe clip is a metal or plastic band, often with a rubber insert, that wraps around a pipe and fixes it to a wall, a ceiling or a rail with a screw, wall plug or threaded rod. Light, heavy-duty, noise- and heat-insulating versions are available, as well as versions for downpipes and flues.

Used for installing building services and plant and for supporting pipework and ductwork.

How to use it

Choose a clip with the diameter of the pipe and the right load rating. Fix it to the support with the right anchor, insert the pipe and tighten the screw until it holds the pipe without crushing it. Versions with a rubber insert dampen vibration and noise. On lines that expand with temperature, leave the movement free on the sliding clips and lock the pipe only at the fixed points.
