What it is

The Awelco HAMMER BRUSH chipping hammer with brush (code 90300) combines in a single hand tool the force of a hammer for removing slag and scale with the precision of a steel brush, ideal for cleaning and smoothing metal surfaces after MMA welding or similar processes. Designed for welders, metal fabricators and workshops that require clean finishes ready for subsequent treatments.

The welder's wire brush has steel bristles, often stainless, and is used to clean the joint and the bead of rust, slag and residues.

What it is for

Used for cleaning oxides, grease and machining residues from metal and in welding and the work that goes with it.

How to use it

Before welding, clean the edge of rust and paint; afterwards, brush the bead to remove residues. On stainless steel, use a stainless brush reserved for that material only, so as not to leave particles of ordinary steel. Wear safety glasses and replace the brush when the bristles are bent or worn.
