What it is

The cable locator, or tracer, is a receiver that picks up the electromagnetic fields of buried cables and metal pipes, also with the help of a transmitter connected to the line, and indicates their position and approximate depth.

What it is for

Used for drilling solid and hollow masonry, clay brick and blocks, in the installation and maintenance of residential and industrial electrical systems and for inspecting plant, pipework and structures.

How to use it

Switch on the receiver and walk over the area to be checked, following the signal. For a specific cable or pipe, connect or bring up the transmitter. Mark the detected routes on the surface. The results are indicative: before digging, make trial holes by hand.
