What it is
SDS-Max drill bit and chisel set. Key specifications: size (mm) 18 x 400, no. of tips 4.
An SDS-Max bit is a carbide-tipped bit for rotary hammers with an SDS-Max chuck, for large-diameter, deep holes in concrete and masonry.
What it is for
Used for demolishing masonry and concrete structures, for drilling reinforced concrete, in hammer or rotary hammer mode and for chiselling concrete, masonry and plaster.
How to use it
Clean and lightly grease the shank, insert it into the chuck until it locks and select hammer drilling. Drill with the hammer held in line with the hole, letting the machine's weight do the work without pushing, and withdraw the bit frequently to clear the dust. If you hit a reinforcing bar, stop and move the hole; do not cool a hot bit in water.
