Flap Discs for Metal and Wood
502 products · Abrasive Sheets and Pads for Random Orbital Sanders
Flap discs are abrasive discs for angle grinders made up of many overlapping flaps of abrasive cloth arranged in a fan shape on a rigid backing. They grind, deburr and finish in a single operation and, as they wear, continuously renew the abrasive surface. They are used on iron, steel, stainless steel, aluminium and wood.
Types available in the collection
- Angled-flap discs, with fibreglass or nylon backing, for deburring and finishing sheet metal, welds and profiles.
- Flap wheels with bore, to be mounted on a spindle for finishing surfaces and the inside of tubes and shaped parts.
- Different types of abrasive: aluminium oxide, zirconia, ceramic and silicon carbide, for different materials and stock removal rates.
You will find products from Fervi, DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, Unifix, Fischer, Bossong and A.M.E.S. srl.
How to choose the flap disc
The grit, indicated by a number (for example 40, 60 or 80), determines the finish: the lower it is, the more the disc removes; the higher it is, the finer the surface remains. Choose the abrasive according to the material: zirconia and ceramic suit steel and stainless steel, aluminium oxide general use and wood. Also check the diameter, the bore and that the maximum speed of the disc is not lower than that of the grinder.
