What it is

The Unifix nylon backing pad for flap discs (code 0580-615-80-01) is the professional solution for sanding, deburring and cleaning off scale on metals, stone and composite materials. Designed to withstand intense mechanical loads, it is paired with Unifix flap discs to ensure precision and durability in demanding industrial and trade environments.

A flap disc is an abrasive made of overlapping cloth flaps, on a disc for angle grinders or on a shank for straight grinders, that roughs down and finishes metal and wood.

What it is for

Used for finishing surfaces, for sanding surfaces before treatment and for grinding and cleaning up weld seams and burrs.

How to use it

Fit the disc on the angle grinder, or insert the shank-mounted flap wheel in the collet of the straight grinder or drill, observing the maximum speed. Work with light pressure at a slight angle, keeping the tool moving so as not to overheat or mark the workpiece. Progress from coarse to fine grits for finishing, and replace the disc when the cloth is worn down to the backing.
