What it is
The DeWalt DT3256-QZ angled flap disc is a flap abrasive for angle grinders, designed for grinding and finishing metal surfaces. With grit 60 it is an intermediate solution, suited to evening out surfaces after roughing and to preparing the metal for subsequent finishing stages. The pack contains 10 discs.
A flap disc is an abrasive made of overlapping cloth flaps, on a disc for angle grinders or on a shank for straight grinders, that roughs down and finishes metal and wood.
What it is for
Used for sanding metal, from roughing to finishing, for deburring metal after cutting and drilling and for grinding and cleaning up weld seams and burrs.
How to use it
Fit the disc on the angle grinder, or insert the shank-mounted flap wheel in the collet of the straight grinder or drill, observing the maximum speed. Work with light pressure at a slight angle, keeping the tool moving so as not to overheat or mark the workpiece. Progress from coarse to fine grits for finishing, and replace the disc when the cloth is worn down to the backing.
