Floats
403 products · Hand Tools for Construction
Floats are hand tools with a wide body used to spread and level plasters, mortars and cementitious pastes and to finish surfaces. They are held by a handle and passed over the wall or screed to obtain a uniform surface. In the collection you will find products from A.M.E.S., Pavan, Co.Me, Stanley and Barikell.
What you will find in the collection
- American-style stainless steel floats: with a smooth blade and wooden handle, for plastering and skim coats.
- Notched trowels: for spreading glues and adhesives when laying tiles.
- Floats for cement paste: with a blue rubber base and a wooden handle or polyurethane support.
- Floats with rounded or square corners: in steel, with a bi-material handle.
- Bull floats: wide, long-handled floats for smoothing concrete.
- Spares: replacement rubber and sponge pads.
How to choose
The choice depends on the material to be worked: steel blade for plasters and skim coats, sponge for finer finishes, teeth for adhesives. Also consider the size, which affects coverage and fatigue, and the shape of the corners.
