97 products

Mixers are the electric or manual tools used to mix mortars, adhesives, plasters, paints and other products in a bucket or tub. They consist of a hand-held motor unit, with one or two speeds, and a shaft with a paddle or whisk that is changed according to the product.

What you will find in the collection

  • Electric mixers: one- or two-speed models, also cordless.
  • Manual mixers: for small quantities.
  • Mixing shafts and whisks: in different shapes and diameters, with M14 or hexagonal fitting.
  • Adapters: for fitting the shafts to different connections.

The brands available include Makita, Rubi, DeWalt, Breaker, Maltech and CSC Edilizia, as well as A.M.E.S. items.

How to choose

Choose the power and speed according to the quantity and density of the mix, and check that the shaft fitting is compatible with the motor. The diameter and shape of the shaft must suit the container and the material. For models, availability and lead times, AMES Srl works by quotation: contact us and we will reply with a proposal.

Frequently asked questions: Mixers
What are mixers used for?

Mixers blend mortars, adhesives, plasters, paints and other products in a bucket or tub. They consist of a hand-held motor, with one or two speeds, and a shaft with a paddle or whisk to be changed according to the product. They are used in building, on construction sites and in painting, where a uniform, lump-free mix is needed.

Which mixing paddle should I choose for mortar and paint?

The paddle should be chosen according to the product and the container: for paints you need whisks or spiral mixers, while for mortars and plasters sturdier paddles are used, such as cage mixers. In the collection you will find paddles with an M14 or hexagonal fitting, to be checked against the motor. A paddle that is too small for the bucket mixes poorly and makes the product splash.

What is the difference between a single-speed and a two-speed mixer?

The two-speed mixer lets you start slowly, to avoid splashes and dust with powder products, and then increase the speed to blend thoroughly. The single-speed one is simpler and fine for standard mixes. Choose according to the product: with mortars and plasters, low speed at the start helps keep the dust from flying up.

Electric or cordless mixer: which should I choose?

The mains electric mixer has continuous power, suited to long jobs with a socket nearby. The cordless one is handy where there is no mains power, for example on outdoor sites or in renovations with few sockets. The collection includes a DeWalt double-handle mixer with an XR 54V Flexvolt battery, sold without batteries and charger.

How do you use a mixer safely?

Wear safety glasses and gloves, because products can splash and some are irritants. Immerse the shaft to a suitable depth before switching the motor on, so that the contents do not splash. Keep the cable away from the bucket, use the two-handed grip to control the motor torque, and unplug the electric model before changing the paddle.

Where are mixers used on building sites?

On building sites, mixers are used to mix mortars, plasters, tile adhesives and repair products. In painting and restoration they are used to homogenise paints and fillers. Those who work with products in buckets, such as painters and decorators, tilers and bricklayers, use them to obtain consistent, lump-free mixes.
