Planes
103 products · Grinders and Rotary Tools
The plane is used to remove thin layers of wood in order to flatten, reduce thickness, finish edges or chamfer. The range runs from the cast-iron hand plane, quiet and precise, to the electric or cordless plane for series work, up to stationary machines for surface planing and thicknessing. This collection brings together products by Stanley, Makita, DeWalt, Fervi, Milwaukee and A.M.E.S. items.
Types of product available
- Cast-iron hand planes and block planes, including Stanley Bailey models
- Electric and cordless planes, for working on site and in joinery
- Thicknessers and planer-thicknessers, woodworking machines
- Replacement planer knives, blades and mini knives for planes
How to choose
It depends on the job: the hand plane is ideal for finishing and small touch-ups, the electric one removes more material in less time, the stationary machine is needed for bringing panels and beams to size. For electric models look at the planing width and the depth of cut; for spare parts check the code and the size of the knives.
