Locking Pliers and Quick-Release Clamps
32 products · Hand Tools for Construction
Locking pliers and quick-release clamps are used to hold two parts still while you work: gluing, cutting, drilling, assembly. This collection gathers the models used on site, in joinery and in workshops, from brands such as DeWalt, Makita and Fervi, as well as A.M.E.S.-branded clamps.
Types of clamp available
- Bar clamps and parallel clamps: one-handed quick-closing, in various lengths, for panels and frames.
- Spring clamps in polypropylene, for light, temporary holding.
- Vertical bench clamps, for holding the piece on the work surface.
- Corner and frame clamps, for holding pieces at 90 degrees for gluing or assembly.
- C-clamps and fretwork clamps, for fixing to the edge of the bench.
How to choose
Above all the maximum opening matters, that is, the thickness or width the clamp has to span, and the clamping force the job requires. For delicate pieces you need jaws with protective pads, for large panels long bars. Also consider whether you need to work with one hand only, as with quick-closing clamps.
