Galvanised Pipe Fittings

Galvanised fittings are the threaded galvanised steel fittings used to connect pipework: galvanising protects the metal from corrosion. They are used in fluid distribution systems in the workshop, on site and in the maintenance of existing installations.

Types of fitting in the collection

• Male/male nipples: for joining two female-threaded elements.
• Sockets, including reducing female/female types: for joining pipes or changing to a different diameter.
• Reducers: for connecting pipes of different sizes.
• Unions and three-piece fittings: for dismantling a section of pipework without removing all of it, useful in maintenance.

How to choose

Check the thread size, expressed in BSP inches, and the type of connection, male or female, on both sides. Then choose the shape according to the route of the pipework. For a proper seal on the threads, use sealing tape or thread suited to the fluid being carried.
