Professional Mixing Machines and Mixers

30 products · Mixing and Laying

Professional mixing machines and mixers are the machines that prepare mortars, plasters, premixes and other building mixes, on site or in the laboratory. They are used to obtain a homogeneous mix quickly, with consistent quality compared with hand mixing.

Types in the collection

  • Drum or tub mixers: for example the Imer Mix and Spin models.
  • Planetary mixers: such as the Tecnomix from Officine Polieri.
  • Continuous-cycle mixers: for feeding the process continuously, such as the Roto 18.
  • Silo mixers: Silostar and Powermix from Maltech.
  • Pan mixers and cage or paddle mixers: Unimec and CSC Edilizia.

The brands available are Imer Group, Maltech, Unimec, Breaker, Officine Polieri, CSC Edilizia and Raimondi.

How to choose

Consider the amount of mix per cycle, the type of material to be mixed and whether you need a transportable machine, on wheels or on legs, or a machine to pair with a silo. The power supply available on site also matters. For advice, availability and lead times, AMES Srl works on a quotation basis: contact us and we will prepare a proposal.

Frequently asked questions: Professional Mixing Machines and Mixers
What are a mixer and a planetary mixer for in construction?

A mixer or blender prepares mortars, plasters and ready-mixed products evenly and consistently, much faster than by hand. The planetary mixer mixes with an orbital movement of the paddle, suitable for mixes such as mortars and stuccos. They are useful on site for small and large jobs, and in the laboratory for preparing samples.

Pan mixer or trough mixer: what is the difference?

The pan mixer uses wheels that crush and knead the material in the container, and is suited to traditional mortars and concretes. The trough mixer has a paddle that turns inside, which is simpler and faster for more fluid mixes. Choose according to the type of mix and the quantity to prepare in each cycle.

When is a continuous-cycle or silo mixer needed?

The continuous-cycle mixer feeds the process without stopping, with material entering and leaving continuously, which suits repeated and steady production. The silo mixer, such as the Silostar or Powermix models, works with material stored in a silo and is designed for plants where material arrives in large quantities. Choose the type according to volume and processing frequency.

Which mixes can be prepared with a site mixer?

With a site mixer you can prepare masonry mortars, plasters, screeds, ready-mixed products and concretes, depending on the power and capacity of the machine. For mixes with coarse aggregates, use a suitable mixer, because the paddle can wear or jam. Before loading, check on the manufacturer's datasheet which materials are permitted and follow the water doses stated.

How do you clean a mixer after use?

Clean it straight away after use, before the material hardens, with water, removing residue from the base and paddles. Do not leave dry material inside, as it becomes hard to remove and can damage the machine. Always disconnect the power before putting your hands into the drum, and wear gloves and eye protection.

When is a compact mixer or one with extendable legs the better choice?

A compact mixer for small sites takes up little space and is easy to move into a yard or onto scaffolding. The model with extendable legs lets you adjust the working height and rest the drum on a more comfortable surface. Consider the place of use, access for loads and the space needed to unload the material.

Which safety standards apply to mixers?

Mixers are machinery and must bear the CE marking under the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, with guards on moving parts. D.Lgs. 81/2008 (Italian Legislative Decree 81/2008 on workplace safety) requires that the machine is used by trained staff and that the guards remain in place. Do not remove the guards, and do not bring your hands near the paddle while the machine is running.
