Cylindrical twist drill bit Fervi ST1A01.25

What it is

The Fervi ST1A01.25 parallel-shank twist drill bit is a small-diameter cutting tool, Ø 1.25 mm, suited to fine, precision drilling of metals. The 118° point angle, typical of general-purpose drilling, offers a good compromise between centring and working speed, while the hardness of 700-740 HV ensures wear resistance on such a thin tool. It is made to DIN 338, with certified Italian manufacture, and complies with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, with CE marking.

A metal drill bit is an HSS or cobalt twist drill, with a straight or taper shank, for drilling steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics.

What it is for

Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.

How to use it

Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
