What it is
The Fervi ST1A02.75 parallel-shank twist drill bit is a metal drilling tool with a diameter of Ø 2.75 mm, manufactured in accordance with DIN 338. The 118° point angle ensures a precise entry into the material and good chip evacuation, while the hardness of 700-740 HV ensures a strong, durable cutting edge in repeated machining.
A metal drill bit is an HSS or cobalt twist drill, with a straight or taper shank, for drilling steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics.
What it is for
Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.
How to use it
Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
