What it is
Hole saw HM/TC. Key specifications: cutting capacity (mm) 55, material Hard metal (tungsten carbide).
A hole saw is a toothed cup which, fitted to a drill with an arbor and pilot drill, cuts large-diameter holes in wood, metal, plastic and plasterboard.
What it is for
Used for drilling wood and panels and for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill.
How to use it
Fit the hole saw to the arbor with the pilot drill and tighten it in the chuck, setting a lower speed for large diameters and for metal. Centre the hole with the pilot drill and drill square to the surface without hammer action, lubricating on metal. Remove the slug left in the hole saw with the machine stopped, using a screwdriver through the slots.
