A hinge is the jointed component that connects the leaf and frame of doors, windows, gates and ladders, allowing them to open.

How to use it

Choose the type and size according to the weight and thickness of the leaf, usually spacing two or three hinges along the height. Mark the holes on frame and leaf, cut any recesses with a chisel or router and fix with screws or by welding, checking that the pivots are aligned. Adjust the hinge if adjustable and lubricate the pin periodically.
