What it is

The DeWalt DCS389T2-QW is the kit version, with two 6 Ah batteries, of the XR FlexVolt 54V reciprocating saw, designed to give run time and high performance in the longest working sessions. The no-load stroke speed is adjustable from 0 to 3000 strokes per minute, for precise, controlled cutting in every material: up to 300 mm in wood, 130 mm in steel sections and tubes and 160 mm in PVC. With 455 mm in length, 175 mm in height and 3.54 kg in weight, it combines power and handling.

What it is for

Used for light demolition, chasing and localised removal, for cutting solid wood, panels and battens, on the bench or on site and for cutting metal sections, sheet and tube.

How to use it

Fit the blade suited to the material in the quick-release holder and clamp the workpiece. With the reciprocating saw, rest the shoe against the workpiece before starting and hold the machine with both hands; with the jigsaw, rest the base plate on the workpiece and follow the line without forcing. Before cutting into walls or floors, make sure there are no cables or pipes.
