What it is
The DeWalt DT30622-QZ Extreme flap disc is a professional flat-profile abrasive with a diameter of 125 mm and grit 80, supplied in a pack of 5 pieces. The 125 mm diameter makes it compatible with the most common angle grinders, while grit 80 ensures a good balance between material removal and finish quality.
A flap disc is an abrasive made of overlapping cloth flaps, on a disc for angle grinders or on a shank for straight grinders, that roughs down and finishes metal and wood.
What it is for
Used for sanding metal, from roughing to finishing, for deburring metal after cutting and drilling and for grinding and cleaning up weld seams and burrs.
How to use it
Fit the disc on the angle grinder, or insert the shank-mounted flap wheel in the collet of the straight grinder or drill, observing the maximum speed. Work with light pressure at a slight angle, keeping the tool moving so as not to overheat or mark the workpiece. Progress from coarse to fine grits for finishing, and replace the disc when the cloth is worn down to the backing.
